Whether it’s speaking, leading a retreat, playing music, writing, or recording video, it is Mike Landry’s goal to use every gift and means at his disposal to convince others – particularly young people – to live their lives as a generous response to the life-giving love of God.
Mike’s faith began to be awakened at age 9, when his parents signed him up as an altar server. When his parish hired a youth minister in his teen years, Mike found in the Church a second home and in the person of Jesus, his dearest friend. Mike’s adult life has been a one-man mission to offer the same opportunities to today’s youth. Mike’s youth ministry resume includes time served with travelling retreat teams, music ministry, at a summer camp, ten years as a parish youth minister, and his current role: division Chaplain for Evergreen Catholic Schools (serving schools in Devon, Hinton, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Westlock, Alberta). He is also glad to serve in other parishes and schools (by invitation) across Western Canada.
In addition to more than eighteen years experience in youth ministry, Mike holds an Advanced Certificate in Youth Ministry (2003), a Bachelor of Theology from Newman Theological College (2009), and an Master of Arts in Graduate Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville (2014). Mike and his amazing wife Jennifer live in Stony Plain, AB, with their five children, where they are active members of Holy Trinity Parish (the parish that Mike served as youth minister from 2006-2012).
Beyond full-time work at Evergreen, Mike is often invited to speak, facilitate a retreat, or lead music for parishes and schools looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic addition to their event. If you think it’s possible Mike could serve your upcoming event, please see his speaking page or contact him at your earliest convenience.
